Take a Gander

Is this a two-headed goose? No, just two Canada geese that happened to wander up and over the banking of the Kennebec River today. I’m guessing it’s a male and female because the male dutifully stood watch while the female nibbled grass. They were never far apart from one another. I could hear honking of several more as they approached from the south. Tracking the river they soon flew by our location and continued northward • A gray day with an occasional drizzle. Rain arrives later tonight and will last through most of tomorrow. Despite the melting snow we really do need it • When I spotted the two too ripe bananas on the counter this morning I knew what must be done: Bake! A loaf of banana bread is cooling at this very moment. Yum!
