The Craigie

Finally persuaded to do something about my ears problem and spent the morning waiting for a GP telephone consultation. Thankfully I don’t need to visit the surgery and a prescription will be available in the morning so normal hearing should resume soon. I recall something in one of Paul’s letters about itchy ears.
Despite the weather deteriorating in the afternoon I decided to do something a bit different and I walked to Duncarnock Fort (The Craigie) more or less above Balgray Reservoir. The gusting wind and rain with the occasional hail shower almost elevated a shortish circuit and 200m ‘summit’ to a hill walk. The view from the top was not bad.
Very taken with Glanderston dam, a good place for a picnic with a book on a sunnier day. It looked ideal for a wild swim, the numerous no swimming signs rather confirming that. Many pied wagtails too flighty to blip.
