Reluctant
The Dower House smells like a funeral parlour. It is just as well I like the smell of lilies because their scent is certainly overpowering. The flowers were given to me by Porty daughter on Mother’s Day ten days ago but were very resistant to blooming until, on the advice of Google, I put them in the warm drying cupboard overnight for several nights and hey presto they’ve erupted into action. Mindful of the staining powers of their pollen packed stamens, after I took this blip, I cut them off. They are back in the warm cupboard tonight to encourage the remaining flower buds to do the needful.
Gin time for me now.
