Spikes

The pink spikes of Butterbur are a spring highlight for me. 

There's a good patch next to Gill Beck behind the Dam but it needs to be resilient to emerge again after the floods and erosion of the winter storms.

In a couple of months its huge umbrella leaves will be a good spot to find damselflies and moths.
