Some lovely sunshine this morning brought out the butterflies on Spike Island. We saw at least 4 of them and this one was very obliging landing on some blossom for me. 
Coincidentally it is exactly a year to the day that I saw my first butterfly last year - then it was a peacock rather than a small tortoiseshell.  We also heard our first chiff chaff of the year(same day as last year again!) and saw more skylarks - Spring has definitely sprung.
