Duck, TC, duck! Let me go!

Mondays! Usually the most difficult days of the week, aren’t they? Well, Nigel was in one of his very hyperactive, very mischievous moods today! On our lunchtime walk he had pulled so much and when he saw ducks near the pond I swear he could have snapped the lead! But that was nothing compared to what happened in the afternoon!

LDC and I went to the field and let him off lead again, working on his recall, as usual, when all of a sudden he saw a rabbit or a hare and he just went! He chased the poor fluffy thing to a bramble bush and dived underneath it. We knew he was there because the bush kept on shaking and we could hear him whimpering and barking! Well, nothing worked: we had sausages, salmon biscuits, we spoke nice words, not so nice ones... it took half an hour (in the meantime people stopped and offered help, nice words, etc.) to have a chance to get him, when he came bounding out of the bush towards me and I literally launched myself on him to grab his harness! Of course it hadn’t been his intention to be caught and he tried to continue running, so he dragged me down (ouch) and continued pulling (more ouch). However, as it happens in this situations, I couldn’t stop laughing! LDC, though, was as serious as he can be.....

Well, Nigel is banned from being off lead at the moment, as you may imagine.

I’m fine, just a bit bruised! :-)

Have you stopped laughing yet? ;-)
