Kilting on a cold day

Today we took a trip to Doune and visited Doune Castle (see Extra Photo). In the grounds of Castle, I shot tour guides chatting whilst their parties were in the Castle.  It was frosty and freezing cold - not ideal weather for kilting exploits.
Doune Castle itself is a medieval stronghold near the village of Doune and Stirling - originally built in the 13th century, then probably damaged in the Scottish Wars of Independence before being rebuilt in its present form in the late 14th century. The castle saw military action during the Wars of the Three Kingdoms and Glencairn's rising in the mid-17th century, and during the Jacobite Risings of the late 17th century and 18th century. By 1800 the castle was ruined, but restoration works were carried out in the 1880s, prior to its passing into the hands of Historic Scotland in the 20th century. .
The castle has been a popular film and TV Location and featured in  Ivanhoe (1952); Game of Thrones (2011 +) where it was used as set for Winterfell; Outlander (used for “Castle Leoch”); and  Monty Python and the Holy Grail
