Frances Short Pond

Lots of ducks and coots; but no herons today - too late in the day with many people about. Oh, and no snow. But the day didn't start out that way.

       An early morning very chilly walk along the river trail with ominous clouds blowing over the mountains from the south-west. Red winged blackbirds are back, a few ducks and the kingfisher was about (extra). Ran a few errands on the way home to collect Kathy for yet another trip to Flagstaff (now we have to go back on Thursday!). By the time we set out it was snowing quite fiercely; the roads were quite slippery nearly all the way to St Johns (about thirty miles) after which the roads and weather were clear all the way to Flag.
