Vintage lenses have there uses!

So after a lot of people criticising vintage glass on modern dslrs through the use of adapters, I thought, I'm going to try this myself and make an opinion.

My opinion, they work! I picked up an old fd mount 50mm f1.8 for £25 and an adapter ring for 30 to go on my eos body. That's cheap for a lens. Now the do have there limitations, the focus to infinity is somewhat less than desirable and can struggle a bit and and at its widest apertures it has this bright spot in the centre at F1.8. Step it down to 2.4 it goes.

This image was taken on a 40d with a 35year old fd lens and you can see it still has nice depth of field and is very sharp considering. overall , i think they're great, and a very cost effective way of trying out different lenses without the huge price tag

Stay safe everyone
