"It's great to be alive" ?
I sometimes walk along the canal path near Waitrose and the bypass. This graffiti tickled me because, in the white, I could just make out the words "it's great to be alive" while the person drawn in black looks utterly dejected. Sign of the times?
Friend AK wanted to meet in town today. It was exceedingly busy, no one wearing a mask. We ordered drinks from a stall, went to run some errands, collected the drinks, then headed into the street, where we had to sit in a travel agent's doorway because the benches were all taken. The Jamaican busker who plays the steel pans was playing cheesy favourites. I find it a remarkably cheering sound.
After a quick visit to the locked down petshop, I had to go to work. Only for two hours, mind you. Home again afterwards, where I made a fish stew for our supper. (Delicious, but too many potatoes in it).
