I'm an Old Ruin!

Today was a beautiful day in Ayr! It was very misty early on but mom and I dawdled up to St Margaret's Cathedral for Mass. Mom likes to go a couple of times during the week and prefers that to Sundays. So do I as there are less people, no collections and the service is only half an hour long. Also, there are no hymns so I don't nearly choke trying not to laugh at some old chap warbling out of tune beside me or a lady near the front braying like a donkey. I know, I know. That's not very nice of me! When the service was over, we went as usual to TK Maxx where I had a fried egg roll washed down with a pot of tea. After that, we went for a loaf of Hovis and then went back to feed the seagulls on the wall. I got some lovely photos of gorgeous gulls but I thought I'd spare you today. (I can hear the sighs of relief).

As it was such a nice day, we walked right up to what's left of Greenan Castle. There weren't many people around today and we got right underneath it. This was my favourite shot from a little further back to get the two people in with their dog.

By the time we got back home, my legs were aching unused to long walks these days. We did just under seven miles which isn't a lot but I am glad to be sat here with my feet up now! I am definitely feeling like an old ruin!

Track? Well it's not quite right as Greenan Castle was built in 1603 but I love this one from Rainbow - Sixteenth Century Greensleeves
