Resolute

I must admit that it took me a few days to get over the fact that we'd made the decision not to go to France this year. However, one listen to the news today confirmed that we had made the right decision. I think we are all looking forward to the easing of lockdowns but a glance across at Europe should urge us not to be complacent.

Instead, we'll be (hopefully) with some much missed family members this summer: the Bullivants in the Peaks and the Moores in the Lakes. Today I started to plan some adventures but didn't get very far. My limited research tells me that we won't be bored. And English National Parks sell good croissants, right?!

I stretched my run out to seven miles this morning but was absolutely dead by the end of it. The blame lies firmly with Porthill and I am pretty sure I won't be doing that route again. It probably wasn't helped by listening to the Marathon Talk podcast and listening to them discuss what happens to your training when you become a veteran (which, sadly, I am).
