Rainy walk
This used to be a creek. I'm sure it had a name once but alas, it seems to have lost it now. It still makes a great sound when it flows. It's feed by a small, nameless swamp behind the football fields. A few years ago the tree roots had over grown the drain creek so much that it would back up and flood over the footpath when there is heavy rain. Pretty harmless but "we must protect our assets" so they chopped down the trees to protect tangible assets: this drain, the pub's car park (although it was nowhere near flooding), not sure what else. In the process we lost some less tangible assets: more frequent and louder babbling sounds, the once-every-three-years adventure of walking off the footpath on slightly higher ground and, of course, the trees.
Crap photo - I took better ones - but I like the look on Ellie's face.
