Park lane RDA
After getting essential supplies this morning we took off to Bushy Park. We couldn't park in either car park and this was 9:30 so we parked in Clapperstyle behind NPL. we then walked the length of the park seeking no deer and very few birds. After getting a coffee we bumped into Natalie and a colleague exercising their horses. We stood talking for while and when they rode away Alan suggested we should have taken a picture!!!
Last month Natalie was left with one week to raise a £1,000,000 to save her stables. A local celebrity got involved and somehow so did the BBC . After being interviewed on BBC Breakfast the remaining £500,000 was raised within 2 hours. This meant they can buy the stables and secure its future for the disabled riders. The following morning they did a follow up and more money poured in. The power of the people has been fantastic. It is an important stable to the area. It was once an Old fire station with Horsedrawn vehicles and a dairy. Natalie took it over 12 years ago and when her son Woody was born with Down Syndrome she got involved with RDA,.Princess Anne re-opened the stables a few years ago after a revamp. The landlord seems to have been less than helpful in their time there refusing to help out with repairs etc even when the roof started to collapse
She is a fantastic person and very caring and has raised funds through crowdfunding to save the stables. My grand daughters both learned to ride there which is how we know Natalie
