Bedheads

Neither one of them is inclined to attend to their coiffures before coffee. John has what I call classic Tintin while Spike is just, er, untended. I left out my own since the last haircut isn't growing out at all well and looks like bedhead all the time no matter what I do to it....it's not as endearing as this pair.

It's been raining all day (which is a good thing) and I've yet to put my foot outside the door except to retrieve our Fermob bistro table and chairs,  from the front porch. I will have to retrieve the wheelie bins from the street in order to dispose of the piles of cardboard in which they were shipped. The table and chairs are meant to go into the fire garden for our summer evening glass of Sauvignon Blanc, but for now, they are in the living room. I had actually forgotten about them since they were ordered back in October so it was especially exciting to open up the boxes and see what they looked like...a little like the Christmas we didn't quite have....

It seemed like a perfect day to bake cookies, but there wasn't enough butter or enough desire to go to the store for it. Heaven knows...it could be months before I have the urge to bake cookies again, but that's kind of the way life goes on these days. There's just not much point in trusting the future and what it brings to plan ahead.

Speaking of which, we got an invitation (the third) to our neighbor's daughter's wedding in June. It had to be postponed twice due to the pandemic. They say this time they will be going ahead with it no matter what happens! I hope for their sake that the third time is a charm. At least a lot of us will have been vaccinated.
