No expert
Now, I'm no expert... that, chums, could be my catchphrase.
Of course, there's definitely something to be said for knowing one's limitations, so it's not entirely a negative statement. You're rarely going to find the right man or woman for the job if you're always convinced it's you.
That said, if we're not talking about prescribing medicines or fixing your electrics, there are times when not being an expert shouldn't preclude you from having a go. After all, that's the first step to becoming an expert.
And so to analogue synthesisers. Now, I'm no expert but there's a lot of fun to be had with these fellows, whatever your level of competence. Of course, there's some science to the whole business but there's also a lot to be said for just twiddling the knobs and seeing what happens.
