Duck in a ditch

There's a ditch at one side of the field where we used to see the deer last year. In the summer is was completely dry, but there's water in it now, so today I wondered if any frogs might have found it and went over to look closely. I didn't find any frogs, but did find a lonely mallard.  It will be interesting to see if he is still there the next time we go on that walk.
