Market Day.....

An early start to get the cattle fed so the ones going away had time to eat their barley and fill up with silage before the lorry collected them at 6.45am.
Once they were loaded and on their way to St Boswells ,fed everything else then headed down the road to the mart. A bigger sale today with a good show of mainly Aberdeen Angus X cattle.
My ones sold quite well, and this pen full seemingly topped the sale today. Sounds good, but by the time I've paid for the load of seed barley coming tomorrow, another load of fertilizer and the next artic load of cow rolls it will be all gone again. Nice while it lasts though !
This sale last year was the last day of normality before covid lockdown and all the following chaos. Who would have thought that a year later we would still be locked down ?
Back up the road and back to feeding and all the other jobs needing done. It's been a glorious sunny day again, but turning chilly tonight in the northerly breeze. Nearly spring but not quite there yet !
