The star of the show
Oscar was quite upset by the visit to the vet yesterday. He was more upset when I tried to bathe his paw this morning. He has spent all day hiding or running away when he sees me. We will get there.
Thank you all for your generosity with stars and hearts for my cow picture from two days ago. It is on the front page of Popular. Quite remarkable.
I've been at home today. I had disturbed sleep with the cats racing around at 0600. I tried to sleep this afternoon but the phone rang and then two deliveries came. I gave up and got up.
One delivery was a bouquet I had ordered for us this week. I usually avoid buying flowers for Mothering Sunday because of price inflation. These flowers are different and delightful. There are three chrysanthemums like this one so I thought I would share it with you.
This morning I attended a meeting of the RPS Northern Documentary Group. The speaker was Mik Critchlow, born and bred in the coal town of Ashington, Northumberland. Apart for a few years as a merchant seaman, he has always been in Ashington and has documented life there from the 70s onwards. That includes the mining, then the closure of the mines and the aftermath. Absolutely fascinating and some stunning images.
He will have an exhibition in Woodhorn Colliery Museum in Autumn 2021, Covid willing.
The news from Ethiopia tonight was terrible. We were very upset by it.
