Loneliness of a Long Distance Swimmer

Over the years I've enjoyed swimming in various locations with a whole host of friends.

From the warm waters of a private gym (and the relaxation of the jacuzzi afterwards), the plunge pools of rivers in the lake district with the accompanied yelps as the body reacts to the cold waters and a host of other venues too numerous to mention.

And yet there is something magical about heading out on your own into the wide blue yonder with the surrounding landscape as your companion.

Today was such a day.

I wasn't planning on heading out so soon after yesterday's sesh, but as the temperature was again in double figures, I thought "let's do it!"

And it was wonderful.... and yes I'll be back for more.
