Beware of Dogs

Over Chapel Common this morning Basil and Polly met a pair of Newfies. Basil took one of them on, predictably enough, but despite this their owner kindly agreed to me taking a picture of the four of them together. However, true to form, my two had other ideas. Anyway, one of the Newfoundlands will be at Crufts this weekend. I hope he does well :)

Then at lunchtime I was standing at the kitchen sink and a Dalmation suddenly wandered across the garden. Not something that happens every day round here. I nipped out to investigate and found him eating something (I'm still not sure what) and when I started to go towards him with the thought that I'd look at his name tag and see if I could return him to his owner, he growled at me. So I took his picture instead. A while later I saw him run off down the road as if in response to call so hopefully he is now back where he belongs.

And then on the way back from the boys' music lessons this afternoon this peacock summed it all up for me.
