Splayed
I became interested in reflections today. With overcast skies and left over snow patches, the dark trunks created a high contrast scene. I noticed this group of trees because of how the limbs are splayed out.
An internal debate ensued about where to place the line separating reality from reflection. In the middle, to create a symmetrical image, looks like a Rorschach test, lower in the frame to focus on the trees or higher, even at the top, to feature the reflections?
Maybe I wimped out and didn't decide? I went with my gut feeling.
I liked having the circular ends of the trunks as contrasting elements to all the verticality and the horizontal band of snow.
