HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY
My Mother-in-law was the first child born in the US, to Irish parents.
She was never able to visit her Irish homeland, but she was Irish through & through. She valued family & hard work above all else, with the Catholic Church a distant third. She did not graduate high school, but attended
every graduation of her children & grandchildren, until the was physically unable. Her son, my husband, was the first to graduate college, but
there have been many more after him. She was always there cheering them on, toward success.
Ireland should be proud of this child of the Emerald Isle.
She celebrated St. Patrick's day with a sip of green beer &
corned beef/cabbage famous in our family. She did
not find that pot-of-gold, but she found happiness far from
her native land.
If she was here today, she would encourage everyone to:
"get your fanny painted green."
