Spring flowers

A grey morning has turned into another glorious afternoon.

Lots of washing out and dried. The weather is perfect for the lovely spring flowers all around at the moment. Most of the village daffs are out and these lovely Iris Reticulate haven’t forsaken us after all. I posted the sole pale blue one nearly a month ago and all that seemed to be showing of these deeper purple  ones were lots of blind leaves. Patience has paid off and they are flowering beautifully next to the Tete a Tete daffodils at the base of the Magnolia tree.
Now we have to decide where to plant the dark blue ones that I have bought in pots to enjoy inside. Amongst all the spent Crocus leaves in this bed there are also some lovely little Anemone Blanda flowering. Maybe another blip.

We are now in week 52 of social distancing as although the lockdown didn’t start till the 23rd of March the idea of the need to social distance started before that. A year ago yesterday we had our last normal singing session and today a year ago Chris and I went to the cinema to watch Emma for which we had booked.. We enquired as to whether they were still open and they said they would be till the end of the week. We went and there was only us and another couple in the place. Similarly we called at the Wetherby Whaler on our way home for fish and chips and there were just three couples in there, (purchasing toilet rolls in Aldi as we left!)
The ladies who walk had to discuss how we could carry on and all our wedding anniversary plans for the weekend, made after our holiday in Cadiz was cancelled, were put on hold.
The rest is history, needless to say there are no plans for our upcoming WA!

If you celebrate today a very Happy St Patrick’s Day!
