Old dyke

After me having a bit of a grumph last night about always being the one to suggest outings etc, Mr C surprised me this morning by suggesting I took him on a bit of the walk Gill and I did. We didn’t have time to do as much so took the car for a couple of miles to Simonside from where we did a circuit in the woods. Then we headed down what is pronounced Bruff but spelled Burgh. I would have spelled it Brough. Anyway the birds were singing and the sun shone. There were lovely open views north to the snowy Cheviots but I chose the mossy dyke for my Blip.

James was very proud of himself last night - he told me he’d been voted class councillor. (We are surprised given his track record at school. We thought it was probably a put up job to give him responsibility to encourage him to behave responsibly. ) It appears the girls vote for the boy rep and vice versa. #2 daughter says that judging by all the girls who speak to him in the way home they do like him. He is a bit of a character. Thomas was pleased for him even though he said he’d put his name forward for his class but he thought his speech wasn’t good enough so he hadn’t won. Daughter doubts any of the girls know who he is as he never speaks to any of them!
