Getting there.....

....with still practice to be had!
Mum has now been hone a few days and is not coping that well. She had a bit of a melt down this morning but her lovely weekday carer, who goes above and beyond her remit, helped to get her through and mu. Was much brighter by the end of the day. I think this was also helped by the fact that my nephew who has been causing us all so much grief has finally got himself a bit sorted, with much help from his family. Hopefully things will be a bit calmer on that front at least for a while. I spoke to him last night. He now has a place to live in a shared house, that he went to view with my cousin, who has been the voice of reason to him over the last couple of weeks. He will also hopefully be back at work soon and have his time filled more gainfully.
I'm still pushing for mum's move to be ASAP as she really needs to be where there is help on hand at all times. The weekend care she has is always a bit haphazard, her lunchtime carer never showed until after 2.30pm on Sunday which is far too long for mum to wait for her lunch, from the early morning breakfast carer. We have decided that when she moves to her new flat in Bristol Court, she will opt for in- house meals which she can have in a dining room with other residents. The meals will have to be in her own flat until lockdown finishes, but at least she will see some light at the end of the tunnel, when she can have social mealtimes. At that point there will be other activities restarting too. This will be such a help to mum who has been so lonely over the last year. I hope I will soon receive an appointment for us to get the paperwork completed then it will be just one month until she can move.
Charlotte started her new employment today so I hope she enjoys it. The grandchildren are starting their second week back having really enjoyed the first. The youngest, Amitee, received the headmistress's award last week and was so chuffed!
Hopefully all things are on the up!
