Election Day

The entire nation is VOTING!! People are either standing in a queue or have just come from standing in a queue. In general, the voting is going well and we are so happy.

Facebook is abuzz!! People are telling us how many hours they stood in the queue, showing us pictures of their purple pinkie and people simply stating how proud they are to be Kenyan.

The media is having a hay day! There are endless reports from polling stations across the nation where people are being interviewed and explaining how the situation has been. The Independent Electoral and Boundary Commission (IEBC) are now being requested to allow those standing in queue to finish voting no matter what time it is today. Right now, IEBC has said that those standing inside the polling station at 17:00 will be allowed to vote. But now we have such long queues that people are winding their way through the streets of Nairobi as they wait to vote in one polling station. Let's see what happens.

There is such optimism that things will go well. But we have short memories. The voting usually goes well, it is the next few days which will determine our real political maturity.

But against this background ...there is still the chance to have a great time running through the water from the garden hose pipe! Njambi and Daniel had a BALL! It is so hot and this water was such a nice surprise. Daniel's expression is just priceless.
