Sun Lover

Gagea fibrosa, a little bulbous plant from a less well known genus which is represented in the UK most notably by Gagea lutea, the Yellow Star of Bethlehem, a slightly misleading common name as the white Star of Bethlehem is an Ornithogalum, a different genus.   I have never had enough of this plant to risk trying it in the open garden but I suspect it will struggle with excess wet here.   This little clump are raised from my own seed, a good job too as the original plant died a few years back.

A much better day all round than yesterday.   The sun shone almost throughout, always a boost and although it was an admin and work kind of day, I did get out for a bike ride with Jamie after lunch.   He added on taking Jack for a run with the trike and walking Meg with Tim, so has spent a good few hours outside again today.   Two tech tests today for my zoom talks later this week both went off without a hitch.   The talk on Thursday is part of a webinar run by Plant Heritage on Crocuses, information and tickets can be found on this link.   Wednesday is a trip to Switzerland courtesy of Hilary and the group are happy to welcome visitors.
