Showing Off

As if this male Mandarin wasn't showy enough, he was strutting and displaying to the females on the water bailiff's lawn. Wetlands survey today. We didn't see anything unexpected or unusual but it was a pleasant early morning walk. The weather was much nicer than of late, and we counted 29 species, many of which were in full song - notably Wrens, Song Thrushes and Chaffinches.
