Circle of Life

Earlier this morning I saw this hawk flying down to these rocks with breakfast in his talons. It was a rabbit that was almost as big as the hawk. I deleted those pictures...hard to see even though I know the hawk has to eat.

Later, I saw two ravens on the same rocks and the hawk was protecting its' meal. As you can see in the distance, a road runner was thinking that it could get in on the meal. Life in the desert isn't alway pretty.

I am grateful the renovating has cleared out a lot of the brush...gives me a better shot at what is going on below me.
