What's on the menu today....?
"During laundering, a single fleece jacket sheds as many as 250,000 synthetic fibres.
Over 700,000 plastic fibres could be released from the average load of laundry, with up to 40 percent of this entering our waterways. All those microfibres add up to a whopping 85 percent of washed-up man-made debris, and that doesn't even include how much stays in the water."
How much do we love our fleeces? For me, and I imagine lots of other people, an awful lot! Difficult to revert back to compostable materials but we should.
So food (with microfibres) for thought.....
