Jam on Hawthorne

This is typical of Sunday mornings at popular Hawthorne (One Street) cafes. The scene outside on the sidewalk of people waiting for a table is as interesting as the scene inside - maybe moreso.

My friend Diana (gray coat on the right, waving) spotted me and came over to chat. She'd been waiting at Jam more than 1/2 hour and was about ready to give up and go elsewhere. I'm with her - standing in a long line for food is not my idea of fun - especially when I'm hungry!
