Slice
It is a truth universally acknowledged that a bacon sandwich with just the right amount of ketchup applied is the greatest sandwich ever made.
Of late I have been adding scrambled egg into the equation. The reasons for scrambled egg are two-fold; one, is that I think it tastes better and two, it doesn’t drip out of the side of the sandwich like its fried counterpart and if pieces do fall out, they can be easily caught without getting into any sticky-fingered mess.
However, as we have previously discussed: it’s not about where you start from, is where you finish and what takes a bacon and egg sandwich to near nirvana is the slicing of the bread. A simple cross-cut will serve you well and is accepted in polite society, but culinary ecstasy will only ever be truly achieved through a diagonal slicing of your creation.
Whilst it is true that this will work for most sandwiches, it is the bacon sandwich which benefits most from this approach and tastes better as a result every time.
Today I done some chores, watched Sneakers for the first time in years and had a nice walk in good company.
I also ate a really good sandwich which set me up for the day.
Stay healthy.
