Gentleman Mantis

This is the first praying mantis I have seen for a month. He’s also the first adult I have seen in this year. I don’t see many males so it’s nice that he’s here. I just hope that somewhere around there are also females.

I’m still struggling with my old glasses. After getting the all clear from the eye clinic I learned that there was a month’s waiting list for the optometrist. Then there will be a further week before I can hope to get new glasses. Meanwhile close work is very uncomfortable. Using the computer is the trickiest and it quickly gives me a headache. Most days I don’t even turn it on. This has revealed the strength of my blipping obsession. On days that I don’t start the computer I take an “insurance” shot with my phone in case something happens to my camera.
