Lucky

OK - so there's this lady who has sold her house in the hills, and wanted to sell a couple of advanced camellias, complete with pots for $100 each.  I really wanted to get them, but explained that it was sadly a bit too expensive.

Oh, she said - I really like the idea of them going to Old Government House - tell you want, I'll donate them.  Which was all very well, but the logistics of getting them to OGH was another kettle of fish entirely.   The pots alone - concrete - are massively heavy.

So, three of us went to her house (not really a house, more of a mansion), and decanted the plants into very large garbage bags.  Luckily one of our volunteers has a Land Cruiser (golly they are BIG) and we were able to take the plants out and get them back to OGH without too much drama.

Then I went back and emptied the soil out of one of the pots ....  then, the Rower and I went back again, and emptied the soil from the other pot.  Then ... two of our gorgeous rangers took a trailer and picked up the concrete pots for us, and placed them on the Terrace exactly where I wanted them. (see extra).

The next step is for another of our volunteers to go and replant them back into their pots.

If we were to buy these two at retail, they would be at least $250 each, so we are indeed blessed.

And for those interested, the variety is Brushfield's Yellow - an absolutely stunning flower.
