Chocolate Cake

All day yesterday I thought I had forgotten someone’s birthday or anniversary and that persisted today.
 
This morning I decided to make a chocolate cake for me for Mother’s Day, especially as I will not see any of my family tomorrow. Then half-way through the afternoon I remembered that it was Josephine’s twenty-six birthday today.
 
So today’s picture is of my cake which was made with a Betty Crocker gluten free cake mix. It only has buttercream as a filling as I do not think jam goes well with chocolate cake although I like it in a Victoria sponge cake.
 
The temperature at GMT noon was nine degrees Celsius. Intermittent sun and rain but still quite windy.
