My house is higher than your house

Houses in north Scituate look like they are moving higher up the beach trying to escape coastal erosion. Looking at google maps you can still see house numbers at Pegotty Beach that are now in the sea.

Its all part of an interesting story of piecemeal coastal protection and fear of opening access to private beaches where publicly funded sand and pebble sea defenses are deposited.
