No, Not An Abstract
There are still no flowers coming up & I didn't buy any, so this was the closest I found.....dried up from last fall, but it survived the winter & should bloom again. Thanks Anni for hosting FF. After I took this I headed over to my daughters. She is part of the 4 person team from Marquette University competing in the **Moot Court Competition. It's normally held in New York City, but due to covid, it was done via zoom. Even though the computer was in the bedroom (hence my presence to oversee Mae and make sure she didn't run into the bedroom--Noelia was asleep), Jennie still had to dress in her "lawyer clothes" & give her arguments, answer questions, etc. She was SO nervous before it started, but I knew she'd do great, as she has a fast mind, knows her stuff, and put in hours of practice with the team & the coaches at Marquette. She came out about an hour and a half later, pumping her fist in the air, so I knew she'd done well. They get critiqued right away, and she said of the three judges, she got two "excellent" comments, and was singled out for her summation (I hope I'm using the correct terminology) which was "superbly delivered & best of the team". Now they wait to see where they scored, and if they score high enough they'll progress to the next round. She said she wouldn't be crushed if they didn't progress because she's riding high on her critique, as she should be. :)
** "Moot court competitors participate in a hypothetical appeal to the United States Supreme Court. The competition involves writing a brief as either respondent or petitioner and then arguing the case in front of the mock court."
