Wellington cemetery and mountains
We got up at silly o’clock ( I’m not a morning person) and travelled 200k in the pouring rain to arrive in time for Maddy’s swimming carnival ( we were a bit late due to the weather but the line up delayed the start - see extra) we had to sign in and be counted due to Covid and pay $5.80 for entry and of course no one had any change). Bob dropped us off as there was no parking within cooee of the venue as there were 1200 kids and their parents at the carnival. When we found the Bathurst schools check in the lady said we were second last on the program which was sometime in the afternoon. So....we took Maddy with us and went to meet my sister Sally at the art Gallery and museum which are housed in my old high school. Wow it bought back memories. I have included some photos in extras. Then my cousin Moira and her husband walked in - by accident as they didn’t know we were there. So after a long second breakfast we sat in the car and read books waiting for a call back to the carnival. Long day.....
Maddy was in the relay. She isn’t going to represent the country in swimming but had a good shot and certainly didn’t embarrass us. In fact I was almost teary as I am a hopeless swimmer and was really proud of her having a go. The other parents were so lovely and friendly as I was obviously the odd one out - not having a clue as to what was happening.
The extra shows some architecture in Dubbo and the old school and the weather. The main is in between rain storms. I liked the light on the hills ( Mount Arthur). We are now home after dropping Maddy out to her place where she will probably have an early night.
Sorry for the long ramble....
The abstract was part of a painting of Mars that my son did at art school.
