Only Time Will Tell

For some people a church is a building. For other people church is a meeting on a Sunday morning. For still other people the church is the group of people who gather in that building, at that time on Sundays. Of course in some ways it’s all of the above.

But I wonder what the church will look like after this pandemic is over. Will it have grown, will it have shrunk? Will it have a better sense of itself and what it is really about?

Will it depend less and less on gimmicks and big names? Will it still put it’s money into such big buildings and campuses?

Or will it return to some of the basics from when it was started some 2000 years ago?

Only time will tell.
