Timing
...is everything. And it needed to be today as the rain showers swept in approximately every half an hour.
Not that I'm complaining about the weather as we now have a new hate crime law in Scotland and a new offence of "stirring up hatred". Under the bill, offences are considered "aggravated" - which could influence sentencing - if they involve prejudice on the basis of age, disability, race, religion, sexual orientation, transgender identity or variations in sex characteristics (sometimes described as "intersex" physical or biological characteristics). The new offences of "stirring up hatred" previously applied only to race and the offence of blasphemy which has not been prosecuted in Scotland for more than 175 years has been abolished...
For God's sake! Have they thought of the effect this is going to have on the Edinburgh Festival Fringe programme?
