Hama Beads

What a nice Sunday. A little lie in then up and of to Church, leaving Daddy behind to go for a run (he is getting quite fit, I better watch my back). After a qick visit to Sainsburys we came home, kids played on the computer together, Daddy cooked dinner and I watch the athletics.

After lunch Daddy went into the garage to do 'stuff', I sorted the kids doing cards for T's bday next week and then they both did some hama beads. After W had made a heart from hama beads at T's he has wanted to do more. So while I was buying presents for various bday parties in ToysRus last week I bought W some Hama beads of his own with the rest of his Christmas money. I thought he would just randomly put the beads on the grid, but no, so far he has an outer line of purple and an inner line of pale blue. Ok so he asked me to fish the colours out of the box for him but he put them all on the grid himself. I am, so far, impressed.

Daddy then needed to go to Wickes, Halfords and other unspeakable places so he dropped us off atthe gym for a swim and headed off to the shops. W hasn't been in the gym pool since before Christmas, then he refused to jump in unless someone was holding him and you promised he wouldn't go under. Well the difference was amazing as he was demanding I get in the pool NOW so that he could lauch himself of the side and into the water. This continued the whole time we were in the pool when he wasn't trying to dive down to get dive rings with his floatation belt on (very funny to watch). So pleased he is now as water confident as his sister. Now he has no fear, I just have to keep a closer eye on him.

Tea at the gym then home to see GB win both 4x400m at the euro indoors. Embarassed by my five year old who could calculate and tell her brother how many laps a 4x400m was indoors before I could. I suddenly have a vision of the years to come and it isn't pretty where maths is concerned!
