Mencap race day

It's a year this week that I took my first blip - how the time has flown and so much has happened.

My second Mencap race day piccie.

It's a day I had not looked forward to which is a great shame as I have always had great fun on this day I have managed to get through it though with head held high.

I have "won" today in the silent auction a framed signed boxing glove of mike Tyson's. I think the boxing glove is quite symbolic for today. It's given me a private chuckle.

I am VERY excited to have won in the raffle a signed cooking and hosting book by Pippa Middleton (even if people have teased me about the book going straight to bargain bucket) I am still so excited its been signed. Who wouldn't milk having the opportunities Miss Middleton is having thrown at her she is after all sister to our future Queen so I think jealousy is very silly especially from people who wouldn't think twice if the boot was on their foot. I will treasure my book for ever.

Talking of celebs. Lorraine Chase is an absolutely beautifully kind and gracious woman. I am now a huge fan. The world would be a far better place if more people were like her. Absolutely charming and has left a lasting impression. You must surely have to be born with her inner loveliness.

A swift half in the grand stand, a G&T in the KC, then dash home to let the boys out, a canter back down the road to join all at the curry house (as we hadnt had enough after our champagne reception, 3 course dinner and afternoon high tea) then a change of plan and a take out back at ours with the hardcore Mitchell's and a disappearing migraine suffering husband just about sums up today's race day.

Other than to say time is a great healer I would love to have written how old and fat you look but I have closure and I at last don't have the gnawing anger in me you caused, for me to write something so unkind. You look tired. I'm sorry for you it makes me feel sad - you will never have happiness. I do. I've fought for what is mine that boxing glove is my prize I've come through the other end. It's a fool who mistakes kindness and happiness for a pushover.

Oh yes my head is held very high.

Goodnight me xxx
