wild monk
Standing amongst the new sprouting lilies and the just going over snowdrops, and the whole lot under the canopy of a very old gnarled apple tree. He’s lived here for many years, over 50 in fact. My dad painted him and put him where he still is. Every summer little flowers, usually speedwell, grow in the pots he’s holding and by late July the big lily leaves hide him completely. He’s got a smart mossy beard and always looks happy.
