Getting fitter
I use an app called iFit to run workouts on my cycle - it connects with my bike via Bluetooth from my tablet, and changes the resistance, whilst I watch a video and try to cycle at the speed being recommended, and admire the scenery. Currently I'm cycling in the French Polynesian Islands. It doesn't always work terribly well, as our broadband connection is typical of the Norfolk countryside, and rather "overstretched", but it gives me motivation and encouragement that I find very useful.
They periodically run challenges - this one was run during December - and if you complete the specified number of workouts they will send you a free magnet. I managed to complete one challenge prior to this, but when I tried to apply for the reward, they were not able to accept an address anywhere but the USA. So when I got the invitation to send for this magnet, I was dubious, but found they are obviously getting more "with it" and aware that there are people in other countries on their app, and was able to send for it. It is "free", including free postage. I say free, I pay a monthly subscription for the app!
I applied early in January, the magnet arrived today - 2 months later. Perhaps it floated across the Atlantic?
I've completed 2 more challenges since then, and applied for the relevant magnets, and my workouts currently are also part of a challenge for March - I'll have to get a magnetic board to display all the magnets in the studio!
Whatever floats your boat, W says. He thinks it is slightly weird - but it is definitely helping me to remain motivated.
