Something Different

A worm's eye view of my garden this afternoon! This is the emerging foliage of Dicentra formosa - our native Western Bleeding Heart. It can be a bit aggressive here in western Oregon if it's happy...but easy to pull out. It dies back in the summer, giving way to garden that can be planted with annuals, or other perennials I suppose, although I haven't played with that concept. It will have lovely greenish-gray foliage and white flowers. There is a pink form that grows in another area of the garden. Lovely to see this time of year!

I'm off to a doctor's appointment so will try to catch up with you all later tonight. Hope you've had a lovely day!
