Home Body
Back to work. Normal day with four triages thrown in as I was the only one in the company working!?! So chatting to wee old ladies in Bellshill talking them through their wee red eyes.
Scuttled home for daughter’s S3 parents zoom call. A bit unnerving as Exhusband on too... longest we’ve been in the same zoom let alone room together in a while. Awkward!
Daughter’s enthusiasm shone out in every call and every teacher remarked in her quirky mind and outlook which I adore about her. She’s always been cut from her own cloth and walked her own path.
Last night I caught her up reading poetry, her new favourite being the wonderful Rupi Kaur so in surreptitiously organised Mr Bezos to deliver a copy of Home Body in readiness for a good report. Not disappointed and when I flicked through myself was struck by her writing and how deep she resonates.
Here’s one I sent a pal who’s going through the agonise of losing his mum to cancer.
Think we all need a bit of sensible sensitive poetry like this in days like these.
