Bahrain recorded 588 new cases, 4 fatalities and 630 recoveries today

Bahrain is set to be one of the first countries in the world to pilot an internationally-recognised digital passport programme that could reinvigorate the global air travel sector reeling from the Covid-19 pandemic.
Around a dozen airlines have signed up to take part in the trials alongside Gulf Air, including Emirates, Qatar Airways and Etihad
An app will enable passengers to find information on travel, testing and vaccine requirements for their journey and locate approved testing centres and labs.

A TOTAL of 45 people tested positive for Covid-19 after contact tracing of two infected individuals during random community screening.

As of Wednesday, almost 14 per cent of the country’s estimated adult population has completed their vaccination doses (1,93,677 people).
Bahrain plans to vaccinate an additional 300,000 of its population by the end of this month. This means the country hopes to inoculate more than 600,000 by March end, which would account for more than 40pc of the estimated adult population of 1,391,000.
