Mao and me

Mao died in 1976 aged 82 on my 29th birthday.

There is his portrait over the entrance to The Forbidden City and there is me in Tiananmen Square.

The year is 1986, Ten years after the end of the Cultural Revolution (1966-76)

During that time universities were closed down and so there was a huge lack of graduates in China. I was there with a World Bank initiative to expand and improve their TV universities.

I have been rescuing 35mm slides so there will probably be more Sino-Blipping
