Seals at Sandsayre

Breezy at times today, mostly cloudy, and some very light showers now and again.

The museum has been closed today, but I've been in the office all day.  Mam, dad and friends were out walking about Lerwick, so I let them in the museum for a look too.  Walkies with Sammy after work, and then more this evening, and met up with Julie and Keba.  Tried to watch that Meghan interview on the telly tonight, gave up quickly, as I never paid any attention to the stories before, so the explanations didn't make sense.  Movie time instead.

It was raining in town, so I popped down the road for my lunchtime walk.  I wouldn't have said it was much of a day for sunbathing, not much sun, and a tad chilly in the wind, but the seals were out, enjoying an afternoon nap.  I do love seals, they are like dogs in the sea.  Our seal population has dwindled dramatically, due to disease, fish farming hunting, and Orcas.  Man seal hunting has thankfully been banned fully now! Taken on the old Sandsayre pier, Leebitten, Sandwick.
